Hip Hop is a street dance that was originated from the streets of New York in the late 70’s and exploded onto the commercial stage in the early 80’s.
Youths used Hip Hop as a tool for self expression through dance battles and jam circles in the streets.
Hip Hop is uniquely a freestyle form of dance and encourages improvisational skills and musicality.
In our Hip Hop Beginner class you will be exposed to Hip Hop grooves, getting comfortable with basic dance counts, and a good portion of choreography to build confidence and have fun! You can expect 20mins of Stretching and Hip Hop Basics+ 10mins Introduction to Hip Hop vocabulary and exercises+ 30-35 mins of choreography (Changes monthly).
Students will get a clip of their choreography after every class to practise at home and track their progress.
Attire: Comfortable clothes to move in, sneakers
